There appears to be a variation in the spelling of her first name. On the marriage certificate her name is spelt as 'Betsy' but on the death certificate and her headstone it is spelt as 'Betsey'. She is also referred to as 'Bessie'.

From the death certificate it appears that the cause of death was apoplexia (celebrial) 33 hours, coma 33 hours. Apoplexia was an old fashioned term use to describe the loss of consciousness immediately preceding death and the term stroke may be used today.
